Forsyth Park is one of the largest and most visited parks in Savannah. The park occupies 30 acres of land and was created in the 1840's.
It is best known for its beautiful fountain and the Confederate Memorial Statue. The fountain is modeled after fountains found in Paris, France and Cuzco, Peru. It was featured in the 1962 version of the movie Cape Fear. Each St. Patrick's Day the waters of the fountain are dyed green to honor Savannah's Irish Community.
The park is surrounded by beautiful homes and a number of delightful inns. The city sponsors several free concerts and events throughout the year in the park which make it an attractive destination for locals and tourist.
