A visit to the Roundhouse Railroad Museum is a step into the glory days of American Railroading. The Roundhouse was constructed to service the steam locomotives of the Central of Georgia Railway.
During its peak, the Central of Georgia Railway was one of the largest continuous railway systems in the world and the largest employer in Savannah. It began operation in 1933 and closed in 1963. The repair complex is a National Historic Landmark and is owned and operated by the Coastal Heritage Society.
Tours include riding a train, operating a hand car and touring a number of period railroad cars. Cars available for boarding include; freight cars and the luxury cars once used by the railroad's owner.
Here's hoping you have a fantastic visit from SavannahWise.

Forsyth Park
Forsyth Park is one of the largest and most visited parks in Savannah. The park occupies 30 acres of land and was created in the 1840's.
It is best known for its beautiful fountain and the Confederate Memorial Statue. The fountain is modeled after fountains found in Paris, France and Cuzco, Peru. It was featured in the 1962 version of the movie Cape Fear. Each St. Patrick's Day the waters of the fountain are dyed green to honor Savannah's Irish Community.
The park is surrounded by beautiful homes and a number of delightful inns. The city sponsors several free concerts and events throughout the year in the park which make it an attractive destination for locals and tourist.
